Goals: what they change

Bounded TeamUpdated July 15, 2026

During setup Bounded asks what you are tracking for. It is not a survey — the answer tunes the app around your situation, and you can pick more than one:

  • Avoid overstaying my visa,
  • Manage tax residency,
  • Track citizenship progress,
  • See where I’ve been.

What your goals affect

  • Suggested counters — the preset chips Bounded offers on the Home tab (and during onboarding) match your goals: visa people see Schengen and per-visit caps first, tax people see 183-day rules, citizenship people see naturalization presets. The full catalog is always available regardless.
  • Your exported report — the PDF travel report states your goal in its header, so the document explains itself to whoever you hand it to.

Changing goals later

Go to Settings → Profile → Goal and toggle any combination. Nothing about your data or counters changes — only what Bounded suggests next.

Pick all that apply — Bounded tailors its suggestions to the combination.
