What is Bounded?

The three tabs

• Home — your overview: country of residence, the day counters you track, and statistics like countries visited, border crossings, and travel days.
• History — every day Bounded has counted, as a list of stays or a calendar, with the full detail behind each country.
• Settings — your residence and goal, tracking controls, widgets, data export, and support.

How the counting works

Bounded builds your travel timeline from three sources, and you can mix them freely:

• Your photos — Bounded rebuilds years of past travel in seconds by reading the GPS tags on your camera roll, entirely on your device.
• Smart tracking — with location access, Bounded detects border crossings automatically and logs your country each day in the background.
• Manual trips — you can always add or edit trips by hand; manual entries take priority over automatic data.

Counters and rules

A counter tracks one rule — like the Schengen 90/180 tourist limit or a 183-day tax-residency threshold — against your timeline. Bounded ships with roughly 90 presets covering visas, tax residency, and residency or citizenship requirements, including US state and city rules, and you can build your own for anything else.

Private by design

Your location history and photo metadata never leave your iPhone. Bounded needs no account, and there is no server that stores your travel data. Read more in Privacy: how Bounded handles your data.

Platforms and pricing

Bounded is available for iPhone on the App Store, with an Android version planned. It is free to download and includes a free trial; continued access to features like automatic tracking, counter breakdowns, exports, and live widget data is available through a subscription.
